Expo Milano 2015 is the Universal Exposition that Italy hosted from May 1 to October 31, 2015, and was the largest event ever held on food and nutrition. For six months, Milan became a global showcase where countries presented the best of their technologies to provide a concrete response to a vital need: ensuring healthy, safe and sufficient food for all peoples, while respecting the Planet and its balance. An exhibition area of 1.1 million square metres, more than 140 countries and international organizations involved, and over 20 million visitors expected.
